Privacy & your data

Sarva — Anti-Hindu Hate Incident Reporting is a private pilot and an independent third-party reporting service. Its operational scope is anti-Hindu hate incidents. It is not an official Police Scotland service and not an emergency service. The following describes how this private pilot handles data.

What we store

If you submit a report, we store the words you wrote or said, your answers to structured questions, any evidence files you choose to upload, and the consent choices you make. That can include special-category personal data about religious or philosophical belief, because anti-Hindu hate reporting records what happened and who or what was targeted. The product's operational scope remains anti-Hindu hate incident reporting. We never store your access code — only a one-way cryptographic hash of it, the same way a password would be stored.

Who can see it

Drafts stay private to you. A submitted report is only visible to community reviewers if you choose community-organisation review, and only visible to authorised police users if you separately consent to police sharing. Sarva is not an official Police Scotland service. Every staff view of a report and every AI-suggestion decision is logged.

AI and voice processing

After you review your report and confirm submission, Sarva automatically analyses the reporter-reviewed text to suggest a preliminary incident category and to check whether the submission contains relevant incident information. This is a core function of the service, not a separate permission. The notice shown before submit is version 2026-08-25. These labels help authorised staff organise reports. They are not legal decisions, do not determine whether a crime occurred, and do not judge whether the reporter is truthful. A trained person must review them. This page does not claim a particular lawful basis for that processing. The revised notice, retention and special-category processing are flagged for DPO/DPIA review before use beyond the private pilot.

Sarva sends only the reporter-reviewed report text and relevant incident fields for this assessment. It does not send raw voice audio, access codes or contact details. AI never scores credibility and never makes a decision about you on its own.

If you use voice reporting, audio and transcript data are processed by a voice service to run the conversation. Sarva does not store raw audio in this application, does not enable post-call audio webhooks, and does not treat the conversation history as the official report. Only the text you review and confirm is stored in your report. We do not claim that the voice service never retains audio unless zero-retention is enabled on the configured account.
